We are asking these questions not because we are simply nosy. No, it is to make sure that you will enjoy hosting the particular Partique party in question; and if not this one, then to help us understand what other types of Partique parties might be just perfect for you to host.
Hosts are chosen based on their responses to the online surveys. Generally, we look for people who share a specific passion or interest and who are capable of first, hosting the party, and second, capable of coordinating the party online. (Translation: if you can’t use a computer; this could be a problem.)
Check your "spam" and if your notifications from Partique are there, follow your email service provider’s instructions as to how you should ensure delivery of wanted mail.
You will receive a congratulatory email notifying you that you have been chosen to be a host. The email will contain a link connecting you to your Partique Party website. There you will be guided through the process of setting up your party. You will need the same password that you created when you began your application to log into the Partique website. (Please be aware that some email systems may block our email. Follow your mail provider's instructions on how to ensure the delivery of Partique mail.)
Yes you will. If you have questions about the process, feel free to contact us at info@partique.com. We are happy to help!
We don’t see any reason why not.
As long as you are able to share the sponsor’s product with your guests, you can have the event wherever you like, keeping in mind safety and good sense. If you are doing something especially unique, make sure you take lots of pictures and video and then upload it to the site. We want to see it too.
Yes. And no.
If a specific Partique party is scheduled for a single date, then on that scheduled date, people from all across the country will be joining in the same party on the same day. That’s a pretty amazing thing-- that many people all participating in a single event in a thousand locations. Do it on a different day, and you may not feel like you are part of the event, which would be a shame.
However, not all Partique parties will follow this scheduling format. Some will take place on a month of Sundays, some every other Tuesday, so the same day edict does not hold; but these changes will be party specific, and you will know about this well in advance.
No.
The timing is up to you. Select a time that works best for you and your guests.
Yes.
Contact us at your earliest convenience, and we will try to work something out if something serious prevents you from having the party on the day of the event.
It varies from party to party.
Check your Partique Party Page information (after logging into your party site) for details specific to your party. You will learn what is in the Partique Party Pack there.
We are sorry, but no.
Because of the length of time needed to arrange shipping and fulfillment of the Partique Party Packs, they will be identical for all hosts.
We are again sorry, but no.
As a Partique host, you will receive your host party package and free access to your custom Partique Party Page, but otherwise you are responsible for any thing you choose to offer your guests.
Before you try to log in once more, try refreshing your browser and clearing your cache through Internet Explorer in order to erase previous attempts to log in from your computer's memory.
If you are having trouble with your password, see the "I forgot my password" entry above.
Only your invited guests will see your location address. Your user name, city and state, and media will be shared on the overall Partique Party Page—but not your address or actual name. Again, real names and addresses are visible to invited guests of specific parties only.
An invited guest shows up right away on your party page along with a generic avatar and a name. The guest’s status will be updated once the user (in this case, your guest) accepts or denies his invitation. Try to convince them to put in a picture for their avatar. Makes the whole thing look a little cooler.
While guests will be able to attend the event, if they don't register, they won't be able to post photos and video, nor post messages on your party site. If they do register, they become the first to find out about upcoming events they might want to host.
Refresh your browser and clear your cache to dispose of unsuccessful attempts to send invites from your hard drive.
Try sending the invitations again and make sure to put commas between email addresses. If you still have problems, send one at a time. If the problem refuses to go away, do not hesitate to contact us at info@partique. We actually check that email. It isn’t some virtual abyss where online complaints go to grow mold and die.
If your guest appears on your guest list, then the invitation was successfully sent; it just wasn’t successfully received. He should check his spam filter; it might be there.
Also, some of your guests might have ISP's (such as schools or businesses) that have very stringent firewalls that do not accept email links. Your invitation includes an RSVP link, so ISP's will likely prevent your invitations from going through. You can avoid this by sending the invitations to home email accounts. Or you could send an email (a regular old email) stating you want to send them an invite with a link. They will send you another way to send the invite with RSVP link. (Unless, of course, they actually don’t like you, or even if they don’t know who you are, and then we are dealing with an entirely different set of issues. Aren’t we?)
Kids’ email accounts may not accept invitations with links. In that case, send the invitation to a parent's email address.
If you suspect still that your guests are not receiving your Partique invitations, try using your own email account to send an email blast out to your guests (this makes sure it's not flagged as SPAM) with the URL for your Partique party page (found in the grey box on your page). All your guest will have to do is click the RSVP link, enter their email, RSVP status, and number of additional people they're bringing and they're all set.
If you've only invited a few guests, you can simply call them up, or email them with your own email account, and provide them with your party's URL.
There are 3 links in the e-mail that hosts send to guests. Yes, No, and Maybe. Clicking on any one of these will function as your RSVP.
Your guests will need to register with Partique in order to access all pre- and post-party capabilities. If you have invited them via email, they will need to respond to your email, RSVP, and create a password with Partique.
Security is always a concern when private information reaches a public forum. Website users are only identified on the website by their screen names and headshot photos. You can encourage your guests to initial their postings, sign with a first name and last initial or upload photos of them that make their identities clear to you.
Why the heck not? (We can say "heck" on national television, can’t we?.... What?... It’s not? .. Oh.)
A significant part of any Partique event takes place online. You should invite out-of-town family and friends and encourage them to participate via your Partique Party Page. If they register for the event, they can blog with you and your guests, view the party photos and video, upload their own media (like embarrassing pictures of you in middle school with disastrous hair styles and glaring-in-the-sun orthidonture), and generally take advantage of your generous hospitality without ever leaving their den or changing out of their fuzzy elephant slippers
Call your guests and ask them if they are, in fact, coming to the Partique event? Or you might want to send them a regular email with the Partique URL of your party included. This might clear up the problem.
Designate one person (bossy aunts are quite useful here) to keep an eye on how much everyone is drinking. (Please note: The Federal Dietary Guidelines define moderate drinking as no more than two drinks per day for men and one drink per day for women.)
Please note: serving of beer (12 ounces), wine (five ounces) and spirits (a cocktail with 1.5 ounces of 80-proof spirits) contains the same amount of alcohol.
Offer food if you are offering alcohol. Food can absorb some of the effects of drink, and generally the two go nicely together.
Serve non-alcohol beverages for your guests as well.
Make sure your guests have a safe way home either through designated drivers or a taxi. Please have the name and number of at least one local taxi service available for your guests.
